    Allerdale Borough Council is urging festival-goers to be responsible and take a licensed taxi home rather than drive if they have been drinking.

    Allerdale Borough Council experienced disruptions to its telephone service between 12noon and 4.30pm today which meant that anyone calling the main switchboard number 01900 702702, or any of the other published Allerdale Borough Council numbers, may not have received a response.
